Character actor Danny Trejo's grizzled features have been featured in over 100 films, alongside some of Hollywood's biggest stars. But, as a young man, Trejo (CON AIR, DESPERADO) faced a perilous battle with drug addiction, in and out of juvenile detention facilities, and was finally jailed in California's notorious San Quentin prison for armed robbery. This captivating and intimate documentary--featuring interviews with collaborators Dennis Hopper, Steve Buscemi, and director Robert Rodriguez--tells the inspiring story of how Trejo turned his life around, becoming a drug counselor to help others do same (which eventually led to his first film role).
