On its fifth album, the German band borrows from influences as diverse as Gang Of Four and Talking Heads, as well as evoking musical contemporaries like Franz Ferdinand and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah on songs like the eccentric singalong "After Laughter Comes Tears" and the low-key "Life Amazes Us Despite Our Miserable Future," while the infectious "You Don't Have to Shout" spins its brassy post-punk into pop gold.
