Album Notes This hefty retrospective of the popular Canadian band includes songs from their 1989 sophomore album, UP TO HERE, 2004's IN BETWEEN EVOLUTION, and various points in between. It traces their sonic development from the raw, rootsy rock & roll of UP TO HERE's "New Orleans Is Sinking" through the darker, more experimental phase of the Hugh Padgham-produced IN VIOLET LIGHT, represented by "It's a Good Life If You Don't Weaken." The band is at its most compelling on FULLY COMPLETELY's macabre, Neil Young-influenced "Locked in the Trunk of a Car," and at its most understated and lyrical on the pretty, radio-friendly love song "Ahead by a Century."
