Album Notes Tributee: Yellow Magic Orchestra. Personnel include: Senor Coconut; Yukihiro Takahashi, Jorge Gonzalez, Mouse On Mars, Towa Tei, Ryuichi Sakamoto. On the face of it, Latin music's organic, swaying tempos and electronica's cold stiff textures wouldn't seem to be compatible, but German techno artist Senor Coconut has forged a career out of transforming robotic patterns into close approximations of South American rhythms. After the success of his reworking of Kraftwerk's classic AUTOBAHN album, on YELLOW FEVER the erstwhile Uwe Schmidt pays tribute to the less well-known but no less pioneering 1980s Japanese outfit Yellow Magic Orchestra, accompanied by artists including Deelite's DJ Towa Tei, Mouse On Mars, and YMO's Ryuchi Sakamoto.
