Synopsis
Jimmy Buffett presents a novel about the eponymous Joe Merchant--a rock star at the height of his fame--who is missing and presumed dead, except by his sister. Accompanied by her former boyfriend--a seaplane pilot--and a pushy journalist in search of a story, she goes island-hopping in the tropics in search of Joe, encountering not only the natural beauty of the areas they visit, but pirates and other unsavory characters.
