Swiss-born keyboardist Alex Bugnon has a most impressive resume, from studying at the legendary Paris Conservatory and Berklee School of Music, to backing gospel groups and pop stars such as Keith Sweat and Freddie Jackson, to establishing himself as a leading light in the smooth jazz scene. ULTIMATE makes for a first-rate, tidy overview of Bugnon's career, beginning with his 1988 debut, LOVE SEASON, up through his early 2000s work. The disc displays Bugnon's sparkling, engaging approach to the keys, with able assistance from ace musicians Victor Bailey, Keith Robinson, and Bernard Wright.
