Synopsis
A year in the life of a middle-aged woman named True Dickinson, who runs a baby-gift business, has a wonderful 10-year-old son, is loved by her friends and family, but craves romance. She meets Hank, a part-black younger man and local restaurateur, and within two months they are married. Then True gets pregnant, 9/11 makes her business precarious, the marriage falters when Hank is unfaithful--and things get worse due to the machinations of True's nutty mother. But as the year comes to an end, things begin to right themselves.
