Album Notes
Terror Squad: Fat Joe, Geddy, Remy, Tony, Prospect.
The Terror Squad was always more than a superstar vehicle for Bronx, New York rap icons Big Pun and Fat Joe, but the former's tragic death would be enough to stall any unit. After many years, Fat Joe's mainstream breakout, and numerous line-up changes--most notably the addition of Lil' Kim-style MC Remy Martin--the group returns as a quintet (Remy, Joe, Tony Sunshine, Armageddon, and Prospect) with a lively second record.
TRUE STORY is dominated by the voices of Joe and Remy, which is no drawback, as each boasts a towering delivery and rugged worldview, playing off the other with ease. Tony Sunshine's melodious croon offers a sweet counterpoint, while the blunt Armageddon and lyrically potent Prospect drift in and out of the proceedings. The group proves they can hit hard and play dirty on "Take Me Home," drop a catchy pop single on "Lean Back," and wax introspective on the wistful "Streets of NY." TRUE STORY proves the Terror Squad is a dynamic, powerful force, and the rap world is better for its rebound from tragedy.

Industry Reviews
3 1/2 out of 5 - Terror Squad remarkably remains one of the strongest cells in hip hop, and TRUE STORY is no idle threat.
