Album Notes Performer name: Jeff Foxworthy. Additional personnel: Tim Rushlow (vocals); James Hollihan, Jr. (various instruments); Russ Taff (background vocals). Producers: Doug Grau, J.P. Williams, James Hollihan Jr. Principally recorded live at The Taft Theater, Cincinnati, Ohio. TOTALLY COMMITTED was nominated for a 1999 Grammy for Best Spoken Comedy Album. This audio version of Foxworthy's HBO concert special of the same name finds the comedian at the peak of his mirth-making powers. Sure, he expounds upon the same topics he's tackled for years, namely rednecks, rednecks and rednecks. Begrudging him this would be like complaining about Muddy Waters' over-reliance on the 12-bar blues form, though. Foxworthy's talent lies in the fact that he's smart enough to recognize the cultural foibles of his fellow Southerners, honest enough to identify with them, and comic enough to poke fun at the whole scenario. When it comes to this particular brand of humor, no ones better at it than Foxworthy, a fact borne out by even a casual listen to TOTALLY COMMITTED.
