Movie Description In this offbeat comedy, a woman tells her tollbooth operator boyfriend that their relationship must be put on hold until her missing father turns up, prompting him to embark on a bumpy road to find him.
Synopsis People pass through tollbooths every day.
But this time, with the toss of a coin, several lives will be changed forever.
Eccentric 20-year-old Doris informs her sweetheart, Jack, that she cannot move forward in their relationship. She feels she must first locate her estranged father. So Jack begins to search for the long-lost man.
Jack wants to wed his love and have her cease her paternal fixation. Working in his tollbooth one night, Jack collects a fare from an old man who just might be Doris's father.
This potential discovery, though, only marks the start of a series of fateful escapades that will affect everyone!

Industry Reviews "...The assured, imaginative lensing keeps the landscape alive and full of visual surprises and slyly composed treats..." Variety - Stephen Gaydos (05/23/1994)
"...TOLLBOOTH is a giddy contemporary comedy -- romantic on the one hand, gleefully prankish on the other -- that's distinctive and funny..." Los Angeles Times - Kevin Thomas (06/28/1996)
