Synopsis A retired history professor discovers a 75-year-old memoir that features the potentially exaggerated tales of an Irish healer named Charles O'Brien. O'Brien claims to have met such luminaries as Charles Parnell, William Butler Yeats, George Bernard Shaw, and the founders of the IRA--but his most important encounter is with a young English girl named April who will become the love of his life. Bridging the gap from the 19th to the 20th century, O'Brien's memoirs contain the seeds of what will become modern Ireland.

Industry Reviews "[Frank Delaney] does his country's storytelling tradition proud with this historical romance that both winks at and revels in its melodrama." (11/09/2007)
