Album Notes New Found Glory/ISHC (International Superheroes of Hardcore): Chad Gilbert (guitar); Steve Klein, Jordan Pundik, Ian Grushka, Cyrus Bolooki. Personnel: Jordan Pundik (vocals); Steve Klein (guitar); Ian Grushka (bass guitar); Cyrus Bolooki (drums). This two-disc set pairs an EP by the punk-popsters New Found Glory (TIP OF THE ICEBERG) with a set by New Found Glory offshoot International Superheroes Of Hardcore (TAKIN' IT OVA). While the six-song New Found Glory EP delivers the commercially oriented, hook-filled take on punk the band is known for, the full-length from ISHC (which is essentially an assumed name for the members of New Found Glory) blasts listeners with a pure dose of classic hardcore. The lyrics either satirize contemporary trends (screamo music, fashion slaves) or goof around ("Hardcore Hokey Pokey"), but the sound--aggressive and no-nonsense--is a refreshing change.
Industry Reviews The new tracks are awesome, returning to the hypertension and huge hooks of pre-COMING HOME material, and the covers offer a distinctly NFG spin on some underground classics.
