When Athens, Georgia's B-52s hit the scene in the late '70s, they brought to the burgeoning punk scene a sense of fun and wacky excess. The B-52s would influence the genre for years to come. TIME CAPSULE offers the definitive selection of delights, covering the band's nearly 20-year span of great records.
TIME CAPSULE presents the listener with a nonstop dance party, beginning with the early hits and following in chronological order. The B-52s turned an extremely simple concept-sing all the girls names you can come up with-into "52 Girls," an instant pop classic. And who could forget the practically monotone keyboard bouncing away to a back-up chorus of shellfish? Or Fred Schneider looking for his telephone to call his babe and offering to kiss (among other things) her pineapple under the "Strobelight." Other highlights include the huge hit "Love Shack," the beautiful "Roam," and two new tracks not available elsewhere ("Debbie" and "Hallucinating Pluto"). TIME CAPSULE is highly recommended for beginners and fans alike.
