Created in the early 1950s, THIS IS YOUR LIFE enchanted viewers for several decades as it brought the life stories of both celebrities and ordinary people into millions of homes. People were picked for the show due to their invaluable contributions to society, meaning one show about Holocaust survivor Hanna Bloch Kohner could be followed by a star-studded profile of Laurel and Hardy (and indeed, both shows are included on this collection). Host Ralph Edwards, who also created the show, managed to conjure up some incredible emotions as each show unfolded, with the people involved getting caught up in stories and anecdotes from the past--many of which were a complete revelation to an awestruck television audience.
