Album Notes This Heat includes: Charles Heyward. The British experimental new wave trio This Heat emerged as part of the 1976 punk rock explosion, though its roots lay in such early 1970s progressive bands as Gong. Its music is challenging, often consisting solely of electronic tones and jagged bursts of rhythm, but, as its first album attests, the band's vision of music as an ongoing innovative process bears fruit in both the abstract instrumental "Not Waving" and the Robert Wyatt/Brian Eno-like "The Fall Of Saigon."
