Album Notes Additional personnel: Russel Kwan, Dan Sartain. This rocking all-female San Francisco garage-rock trio specializes in a blend of 1960s girl group sounds (notably on the impressive "Never Again" and the Shirelles-like "Just Ain't Right for Me") and primitive down-and-dirty rock & roll. "Bar B Q" is a Farfisa-assisted hymn to the venerable and delicious carbonized meat tradition, while "Much Too Late" is a moody Cramps-like piece featuring the dark vocal stylings of up-and-comer Dan Sartain.
Industry Reviews As far as all-gal, '60s garage debris burning goes, the Husbands inch ahead of the Gore Gore Girls, thanks to a better ingestion of girl-group melodics.
3 stars out of 5 -- [They] combine sweet and ominous girl-group call-and-response with wild-woman '50s R&B and rockabilly raunch.
