Synopsis Tim Doyle's marriage has broken up, and he has returned to the place where he was born--Pirate Island, off the coast of Virginia. But someone wants him to leave. He keeps getting death threats that he suspects are from the developer who's turning the place into an upscale nightmare. And then there's the treasure that's supposed to be buried somewhere on the island, hidden there by Tim's pirate ancestor. As Tim gets drawn into a series of events culminating in his kidnapping (and some hot sex), he gradually begins to realize that there's a new kind of pirate--the corporate kind--loose on Pirate Island.

Industry Reviews "[A] tongue-in-cheek yarn about a feisty Virginian and the scurvy knaves ranged against him....It's all good, not-so-clean fun...." Kirkus (01/15/2004)
"Girardi’s delightfully improbable and loosely plotted fourth novel...is a raunchily erotic mishmash of pirate lore, putt-putt golf, corporate chicanery, Irish gangsters and tongue-in-cheek reflections on matters ecological." Publishers Weekly (02/23/2004)
