Movie Description Several black American soldiers bond together to survive the horror of the Vietnam war.
Synopsis The first film to depict the experiences of black soldiers in Vietnam minimizes the issue of race and centers instead on the psychodrama that plays out between a group of five men on a dangerous mission. An uncomfortable mix of inexperienced recruits and jaded veterans travels into enemy territory to rescue the survivors from a P.O.W. camp abandoned by the Viet Cong. Worried that they may not return alive, the five soldiers look back at the events that led them to the jungles of Vietnam.
Film Notes The movie was filmed near Orlando and Chuluota, Florida.
Industry Reviews "...It is marked by the passion and sincerity of writer-director Preston A. Whitmore II..." Los Angeles Times - Kevin Thomas (02/24/1995)
