Synopsis This is the seventh entry in the Series of Unfortunate Events books which chronicle the disastrous lives of the Baudelaire orphans, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny. Here their miserable experiences continue, as Mr. Poe's latest adoption attempt involves an entire village of rule-loving old people with a taste for ice-cream sundaes and very clean homes. Taken in by a curious janitor named Hector, the orphans continue in their search for clues to the Quagmire triplets' whereabouts and encounter a secret, censored library, a very inventive hot air balloon, and more crows than anyone could think possible., Under a new government program based on the saying "It takes a village to raise a child," the Baudelaire orphans are adopted by an entire town, with disastrous results.
