Synopsis
A man traveling in a hot-air balloon is blown off course by a storm. When he lands, he finds himself in the very city where he grew up--the one he left behind many years ago. When the man returns to his childhood home, he finds it locked with three padlocks. He then meets a firey-eyed cat who leads him through the city in search of the three golden keys that will open the door to his former home--and to his own past. Color illustrations accompany this original fairy tale in which the author explores his childhood in Prague and celebrates that city's cultural heritage and liberation from Communism. Selected by the New York Times Book Review as one of the Best Illustrated Children's Books of 1994., Led by a cat on a magical journey through the deserted streets of Prague, a man comes upon some of the city's landmarks and finds the keys to his childhood home in three traditional Czech tales.
