Sooner or later, it was bound to come down to this. Whether he just felt like striking out on his own, or, after all those years of sibling rivalry, decided to prove that he didn't need anybody else to get his songs across, Ray Davies has created a one-man show based on the Kinks repertoire. Essentially a live solo "Best Of The Kinks," THE STORYTELLER includes Kinks Klassiks (sorry) like "Victoria," "Tired of Waiting," and the semi-obscure gem "Autumn Almanac," along with such left-field entries as a cover of "That Old Black Magic," all interspersed with Davies anecdotes and witticisms. A must for Kinks Kompletists (sorry again).
