This two-disc collection includes 45 instrumental hits by the seminal Jamaican combo the Skatalites. Arguably the most talented instrumentalists to emerge from Jamaica, the Skatalites included musicians like Vin Gordon, Tommy McCook, Roland Alphonso, Jackie Mittoo, and Don Drummond, whose playing defined the sound of Jamaican popular music. These early sides were recorded in a brief span of eighteen months in 1964 and 1965, and include such classics as "Guns Fever," "One Drop," and "Twilight Zone."
