You're spared neither the gritty aspects of the tale nor the unavoidably human ones. Aided in his endeavors by longtime West Coast compatriot Ice Cube, as well as Too Short, E-40 and CJ Mac, WC shades his tunes with touches of funk and R&B, and keeps the arrangements eerily atmospheric, so as to provide the proper setting for his grim underworld visions on THE SHADIEST ONE.
