Movie Description
A state senator seeking the presidential nomination tours the country making ridiculous campaign promises. When he loses a diary filled with dirty party secrets, he is forced to flee the country.
Synopsis
Two of the finest comic craftsmen of their time -- George S. Kaufman and Charles MacArthur -- concocted this witty delight.
Senator Melvin G. Ashton has his eye on the prize: the U.S. presidency. Unfortunately, the party honchos have no intention of nominating him.
Then Ashton takes out his little black book -- the one where he's jotted down all the bigwigs' dirty little secrets -- and very quickly he's off and running.
Then the precious diary disappears....
