Synopsis A humorous revelation of the real reasons why adults tell children to do things, such as "Eat your vegetables," "Comb your hair," and "Don't blow bubbles in your milk.", Mickey and Jack used to be friends--until Jack turned into a bully. Now Jack picks on Mickey in the school yard and steals his cookies at lunchtime. Confused, Mickey turns to his father who advises him to stand up to Jack by telling him "I don't like that!"--but that sort of reasoning doesn't work on Jack. Mickey's mother reminds Mickey that Jack's mom just had a baby and that Jack might be behaving badly because he's jealous of his new sibling. Her advice to Mickey is to treat Jack with kindness. Can Mickey use kindness to stop Jack's bullying? Color illustrations accompany the text.

Industry Reviews "Perhaps best of all is the simple notion of talking with your parents about the problem...Caseley's flat, vaguely primitive art seems simple at first, but it is filled with the details of ordinary life at home and school and lends just the right air of authenticity to the story." Kirkus Reviews (03/01/2001)
"This isn't going to solve bullying problems, but kids may at least appreciate the reminder that it's happened to others and that they survived." Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books - Deborah Stevenson (06/01/2001)
"Subtle it's not, but kids who enjoyed the first one will likely discover enough silliness to please them in this top-secret sequel." Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books - Jeannette M. Hulick (12/01/2001)
