Movie Description The story of a fierce struggle between cattlemen and their farmer enemies feuding over New Mexico grasslands.
Synopsis The epic battle between the ranchers who are fighting to maintain the open range and the homesteaders who want to fence it in is played out against a backdrop of family melodrama. City girl Lutie Cameron settles down with rich cattle baron Jim Brewton on his Southwestern ranch. Brewton's abiding passion for the what he calls the "sea of grass" blinds him to the suffering of the farmers he is driving off the range. Appalled by her husband's ruthlessness, Lutie takes up with a conscientious lawyer who is trying to help the destitute homesteaders. Brewton banishes his wife from his home, retaining custody of the son born out of Lutie's adultery.. Though Brewton proves a good and loving father to his adopted son, the boy grows up tormented by his own illegitimacy. The resulting tragedy brings Lutie and Brewton face to face again after years apart.
