Movie Description This is a David Lynch-style vampire tale that takes place in a FARGO setting. Young Seth lives in his boyish fantasy world in the Midwest until strange happenings start occurring in town. Director Philip Ridley wrote the screenplay for the fraternal British gangster film, THE KRAYS.
Synopsis In the 1950s, a young boy loses his innocence as he uncovers the rotten underbelly of his picture-perfect town. From afar, he observes local residents driven mad or beset by disease, both possibly due to government-sponsored radiation experiments. He also becomes entranced by his new neighbor, a young widow, and suspects she is a vampire.
The child soon fears the worst because he realizes the undead woman wants to kill his brother...
Industry Reviews "...Ridley is a visionary....[The film] exerts a hypnotic pull..." Travers
"...Eerie, unsettling....THE REFLECTING SKIN is an amazing film, studded with selfless, luminous performances and shot through with dark humor..." Los Angeles Times - Kevin Thomas (12/18/1991)
