Album Notes The Beatnuts: Psycho Les, Juju (rap vocals). Additional personnel: Ill Bill, Problemz, Tony Touch, Chris Chandler, Large Professor, Armaretta, Cormega, Al Tariq, El Gant, Triple Seis, Marley Metal. On their sixth LP, THE ORIGINATORS, Queens natives Juju and Psycho Les stick to the tried-and-true formula that got them here--infectious soul/funk sample-heavy beats and irreverent hardcore rhymes rife with braggadocio. While admittedly the `Nuts have never been the most imaginative lyricists, their straightforward verses that speak of endless blunts, alcohol abuse, stripclub debauchery, and the ever-impending threat of violence never fail to get heads bopping. Still, the focus is on the pair's production skills as they balance bouncy party anthems with menacing ghetto theme music utilizing "loops so obscure you don't even gotta clear it." The guest list only enhances the mayhem as Ju and Les pass the mic to Ill Bill, El Gant, Triple Seis, Problemz, Large Professor, Cormega, and off-again-on-again crewmember Al Tariq.
