Breaking up Number One Gun after two full-length albums--CELEBRATE MISTAKES (2003) and PROMISES FOR THE IMPERFECT ('05)--frontman Jeff Schneeweis decided to retain the Californian Christian emo-rock band's name for his solo work, resulting in '08's THE NORTH POLE PROJECT. Alternating between electronic tracks (the Postal Service-like "The Best of You and Me") and guitar-driven anthems (the urgent "Bad Habits"), the record proves that Schneeweis can ably carry on the Number One Gun moniker by himself.
