Album Notes
Abunai!'s second full length is ostensibly a compilation disc of "Mystic River" psychedelic bands. The disc comes complete with extensive (and pretty damn funny) liner notes that document the "scene." Of course, the scene is Abunai!'s alone, and the band treads the line between loving parody and smug homage so carefully that you'll never know what side of the fence it's on. But that shouldn't matter, because the music's just so cool. From the full-tilt blast of "Rock Song" and the wah-wah pedal workout of "Barbara Allen" to the infectious pop of "Learning To Ask," Abunai! moves huge tectonic plates of guitar sound. Abunai! is indeed, a one-band scene.
