Movie Description In Sidney Lumet's jarring thriller, THE MORNING AFTER, Jane Fonda plays an alcoholic who wakes up one morning after a hard night of drinking and finds a man lying next to her who has been stabbed to death. Fearful that she is the one who committed the murder, she flees. Later, she finds a friend in an ex-cop (Jeff Bridges) who helps her solve the mystery.
Synopsis Sidney Lumet directed this intense character study about an alcoholic woman whose career and marriage are falling apart. One night Alex Sternbergen (Jane Fonda) goes on a drinking binge and wakes up next to a strange man with a knife through his heart. She, of course, remembers nothing. She then teams up with an ex-cop named Turner Kendall (Jeff Bridges) to solve the murder.
