Movie Description An accurate and powerful dramatic portrayal of the life of Helen Keller. With her own remarkable personal resources, and with the help of Annie Sullivan, Helen Keller was able to overcome the limitations of her almost complete sensory deprivation.
Synopsis The emotionally gripping true story of the relationship between Helen Keller and her devoted teacher, Annie Sullivan.
When Keller was very young, a severe case of scarlet fever left her blind and deaf. Unable to communicate her desires, the isolated Helen flew into uncontrollable rages that terrified her helpless family. No one could do anything -- until Annie Sullivan arrived. With infinite patience, Annie attempted to teach Helen sign language by pressing the symbols into the girl's hand. But the increasingly frustrated child could not make the connection between the signs and the objects they represented.
Then one day, by a faucet, Annie signed "water" as the cool liquid flowed over Helen's hands. In one glorious instant, understanding dawned... and the whole world opened up for Helen forever.
