Movie Description Don Diego Vega, a young Spanish nobleman, watches with horror as the rich landowners mistreat their peons. The poor workers can get no restitution, for the corrupt government turns a blind eye to this cruelty. Finally, the outraged Vega devises a scheme to right the wrongs he sees: during the day he poses as a cowardly fop... but at night, he battles evil as the masked avenger, Zorro. Even though it's silent, this film is generally regarded as one of Fairbanks' best swashbucklers. It set the stage for the subsequent Zorro films as well as the successful television series of the late 1950's.
