Synopsis THE LOST GOSPEL tells the back story of the discovery, in Egypt in the 1970s, of an ancient codex containing a controversial version of the story of Jesus and Judas, and its journey through the antiques trade until it reached its final destination at the Maecenas Foundation for Ancient Art. Documentary filmmaker Herbert Krosney tells how the ancient artifact was restored, translated, and ultimately published, under the auspices of the National Geographic Society, as THE GOSPEL OF JUDAS in 2006. Religion scholar Bart Ehrman provides commentary on the historical and religious background of early Christianity.
