Movie Description This action-packed war film follows the adventures of a group of paratroopers in the French army. Leading the soldiers is Pierre Raspeguy (Anthony Quinn), a tough peasant who has risen through the ranks to become a lieutenant colonel. The troop first heads off to Indochina, where French forces suffer a big defeat at Dien Bien Phu. Soon, the men are sent off to Algeria, whose citizens are waging a fierce guerrilla war against French rule. Not all of the servicemen, however, support their country's decisions -- including Algerian-born Mahidi (George Segal), who deserts his comrades after his parents are murdered during the fighting.
Synopsis A hard-headed officer, determined to become a hero at any cost, leads his defeated French army out of Indochina, to learn he's been relieved of command. Given another chance he launches a bloody battle against an Arab terrorist.
