Synopsis
Greek mythology, ADHD, and perilous adventures are just a few of the ingredients in this fast-paced middle-grade novel about 12-year-old half-blood (part human, part god) Percy Jackson. A longtime sufferer of ADHD, Percy discovers that these are actually side effects from his Olympian heritage, and after being expelled from boarding school, he is sent to a demigod haven, Camp Half Blood. Soon, he's wrongly accused of stealing Zeus's sacred thunder bolt, and a cross-country hunt for the real perpetrator ensues, with Annabeth, the daughter of Athena, and Grover, a satyr, in tow.
