Album Notes Audio Mixer: Eddie Sancho . What began as an intended five-song downloadable collaboration with North Carolina beatsmith Khrysis swelled to a tight, filler-free opus from the L.A. MC known as Evidence. Starting from the concept of a seemingly endless airport wait, the Dilated Peoples frontman lays his economical rhyme flow over a slew of street-level beats (courtesy of the Alchemist, Sid Roams, Babu, Khrysis, and himself). At just 10 tracks deep, THE LAYOVER stands as a compact masterpiece from one of the West Coast's most talented lyricists.
Industry Reviews 4 stars out of 5 -- None of the nine tracks feel extraneous, but the polished pop sway of 'For Whom The Bell Tolls' and 'Don't Hate' particularly stand out.
