Synopsis
Nicholas Sparks creates another moving portrait of young love, this time centered on "Ronnie" Miller, a New York teen who remains actively dysfunctional three years after her parents' divorce. The rebellious Ronnie is sent to spend the summer with her father in North Carolina, in the hopes that the soothing coastal atmosphere may calm her troubled soul. Instead, she finds herself possessed by the passions of her first love, and she must decide whether to fight these frightening new feelings or surrender to them and risk losing the spirit which forms her identity.
