GEILS BAND ANTHOLOGY: HOUSEPARTY contains a 51 page booklet with biographical information, liner notes, photographs, and complete recording information. When thinking of rock & roll's all-time great party bands, many would automatically think of one group--the J. Geils Band. During their '70s/'80s heyday, J. Geils' shows took on the feel of a giant celebration--hence the title of their double disc 1993 set, ANTHOLOGY: HOUSEPARTY. Although they enjoyed their biggest chart success in the early-'80s with such new wave-ish pop hits as "Love Stinks," "Centerfold," and "Freeze Frame" (all included here), the band originally built their fan base with hard touring and the good time boogie woogie rock which makes up the majority of ANTHOLOGY's track listing. You'll find live songs ("I Do," "Houseparty"), uncommon single mixes and edits of early hits and fan favorites ("Give it to Me," "Musta Got Lost"), and assorted other goodies. ANTHOLOGY: HOUSEPARTY is a top-notch J. Geils Band overview.
