Movie Description A group of daredevil skydivers seek their thrills in the air and in the company of women as their travelling show blows through towns across America. A stopover in Kansas over the Independence Day weekend begins as a typical stormy stay, but ends in tragedy. After a tense dinner with a couple who has offered the daredevils lodging, the boys seek out some of the local women only causing more trouble. Extramarital affairs, an ominous marching band motif, and angst-ridden characters set 1969 melodrama under a cloud of dread which shockingly bursts in the film's final moments. Featuring Burt Lancaster, Gene Hackman, Scott Wilson as a cocky young skydiver and Deborah Kerr, who at 48 stuns in a nude scene.
