Synopsis
A dimension-hopping fantasy trilogy ends with this volume. Tremaine, a playwright thoroughly educated in ruthless behavior and general skullduggery; her recently reappeared and even more disreputable father, Nicholas Valiarde; Ilias, her new husband from another world; the unreliable but extremely puissant spirit of Tremaine's foster uncle, the sorcerer Arisilde--and many others--make a final effort to free Tremaine's homeland of Ile-Rien from the Gardier, an invading army from a third world, and to discover the source of the Gardier's overwhelming sorcerous and technological superiority.
