Debuting in the late 1990s with blazing hot singles "Legacy" and "I Shot Reagan," the Brooklyn-based hardcore rap outfit Non-Phixion was already one of NY's most respected underground groups before they had a studio LP to their name. Brutal, paranoid, and conspiracy-minded with one-foot in a sci-fi fantasy and the other firmly rooted in ghetto reality, the crew's long-awaited debut, THE FUTURE IS NOW, gives listeners Non-Phixion's bleak worldview straight. Featuring an ace production team helmed by Necro (including contributions from Large Professor, DJ Premier, the Beatnuts, and Pete Rock), the underground crew--Ill Bill, Sabac Red, and Gortex--paints vivid verses that blend media imagery, political ideology, and thugged-out street nihilism.
