Synopsis
A farcical tale set in a Central European spa town where eight characters' lives unravel: a pretty nurse and her repairman boyfriend, a gynecologist, a rich American man, a celebrated musician and his jealous wife, and a former political prisoner, and his female companion. Kundera examines serious topics--sex, murder, and motherhood--in an eerily humorous manner.
