Synopsis Based on historical events, the film depicts the British bombing of a dam in Germany that supplied German munitions factories during World War II, a victory accomplished only through the painstaking invention of a new "bouncing bomb."
Film Notes Directorial debut for Michael Anderson who went on to become one of Britain's more prolific directors. Some of the other films he has directed are "Around the World in 80 Days," Conduct Unbecoming," and "All the Fine Young Cannibals." His son is actor Michael Anderson, Jr.
