About this Movie
Movie Description
THE BRAVE ONE is based on an actual incident that took place in Spain where in 1936 a bull was pardoned and returned to his owner following its valiant performance in the ring. The film's story is transported to Mexico and focuses on Leonardo, a young boy who is devoted to a pet bull he saved from a flood. Things turn for the worse when the boy's ranch owner father dies and his stock is sold at an auction. Leonardo's favorite animal is taken away to be trained for the fights, even as Leonardo desperately tries to procure a pardon from the President. He finally succeeds but too late - the bull has already entered into the corrida to face the famous matador Fermin Rivera. Both the beast and the bullfighter show such bravery and brilliance during their face off that the crowd votes to spare the bull's life.
