This delightful volume initiates the first official collection of Berkeley Breathed's syndicated cartoon Bloom County that ran from 1980-1989. This first--of five planned installments--starts right at the beginning: Ronald Regan has only been president for one month and many of these strips have the rough-edges of early experiments. Aside from the first two years of published cartoons, this first COMPLETE LIBRARY comes loaded with extras--tossed aside efforts, margin notes, and "Context Pages," which give readers helpful background and behind-the-scenes info. Fans have been waiting for this for a long time, but given the high quality of this publication, it seems like it's been worth the wait.
