Details

Synopsis A experimental novel written in loosely associated fragments, THE ATROCITY EXHIBITION is a dark cult classic by "New Wave" science-fiction writer J.G. Ballard (EMPIRE OF THE SUN, CRASH). Thought the plot and continuity is tenuous at best, the novel hints that the main character, whose name constantly changes, is a doctor at a mental institution who is losing his mind, and the nightmarish scenes that make up the bulk of the text are his mad attempt to make sense of the events happening around him: the assassination of JFK, the suicide of Marilyn Monroe, and the death of his wife.
