Movie Description The last days of the famous Russian rebel turns into a dangerous web of intrigue, a conspiracy of terror and an act of madness.
Synopsis A biographical look at the assassination of Leon Trotsky, the revolutionary Communist leader exiled in Mexico. Trotsky's killer was allegedly an associate of his, and his death by a pickaxe is one of the most infamous political assassinations of the twentieth century.
Film Notes The film opened in Paris in 1972.
Trotsky, once a comrade of Lenin's, lived his last days in Mexico City after he was forced to leave the Soviet Union. He made many famous political associations there, among them with muralists Juan Sieqieros, Diego Rivera, and painter Frida Kahlo, all of whom were active with Socialism in Mexico.
