Movie Description A crew of "aerial outlaws," Vietnam veterans flying across the nation for 20 straight years in a souped-up, converted B-29 bomber, have one last mission to complete. They are on a propaganda crusade to inform the American people that a Presidential candidate is an impostor and so they set about jamming America's airways with a pirate broadcast, "S&MTV", a twisted mishmash of sex, drugs and rock and roll!
Synopsis Hippie kings Dennis Hopper and Michael J. Pollard team up for this comedy that thumbs its nose in the face of authority.
Rather than find work and become productive citizens, floundering Vietnam veterans Captain and Doc instead decide to refurbish a B-29 bomber. They recruit 27 of their closest countercultural pals to end the presidential campaign of mad U.S. Senator Willa Westinghouse, who is to the right of Rush Limbaugh. These living 1960's relics pilot their aircraft over America and censor any television transmissions they deem bellicose, quickly replacing it with peace-and-love pabulum.
Willa, who conceals a bizarre secret, soon tries to scapegoat the blue-yonder misfits by claiming they're in bed with the Reds.
If she succeeds, she just might ride their merry pranksterism straight to the oval office!
Film Notes Debut feature for director Maurice Phillips.
Additional cast: Al Matthews (Ben) and William Armstrong (Jerry).
Industry Reviews "...A surprise....The best of it has an almost raving, full-throttle comic intensity..." Los Angeles Times - Michael Wilmington (05/13/1988)
