Movie Description Originally produced by Grenada Television of England, this fine dramatic series aired on public television in 1985. Based on the writings of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, this episode finds a man claiming to be the King of Bohemia, who enlists the aid of Holmes and Watson in tracking down a photograph which incriminates the King with an American opera star.
Synopsis A masked man comes to see Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson to discuss confidential business that could affect the history of Europe. The mysterious visitor is, in fact, the King of Bohemia, who's engaged to a Scandinavian princess. The monarch is worried that a sexually compromising photograph from his past may be used against him, and he asks the detective to help him reclaim it. Holmes must outsmart the femme fatale at the heart of the matter, American opera singer Irene Adler -- "the woman with a soul of steel."
Film Notes Full title: "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes: A Scandal in Bohemia."
This program premiered on England's ITV network on April 24, 1984. It was the first episode in the 'Adventures' series.
